PROJECT

Torcom Construction completed interior renovations to two classrooms at Silverthorn Collegiate Institute, carefully coordinating all work to minimize disruption to ongoing school operations.
The project included selective demolition, new architectural finishes, custom millwork, and mechanical and electrical upgrades tailored to specialized program requirements.
Classroom 137 was reconfigured to support sewing and photography programs. Mechanical trenching was completed within the existing floor slab, after which the original parquet flooring was carefully removed, preserved, and reinstalled to support the project’s sustainability objectives while maintaining the character of the space.
Classroom 203 was upgraded for family studies use and involved a complete reconfiguration of the plumbing and mechanical systems to support new kitchen stations and ventilation requirements. The installation of a new rooftop unit required structural reinforcement at roof level, along with coordinated ceiling removals and reinstatement below to accommodate the new distribution layout.
